A day that will live in infamy...

Now I know you usually assume that is a reference to the December 7, 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor. Little did you know that there is a lesser known significance to the date November 2. For me, the date of November 2nd has always held some import.

-November 2nd, sometime in the mid 1980's: the birthdate of my Cabbage Patch Kid, Christine Janet. My parents braved the local department store to secure one for both me and my sister.

-November 2nd, 1989: I got my first period. In a very "Are You There, God? It's Me Margaret" sort of way, my period started the day after I accepted some Halloween candy from a neighbor who had not seen us out trick or treating two days prior. In my 11 year old mind, I thought God was punishing me for not listening to my mom when she said not to ever accept candy from people who we didn't know well. Little did I know that Aunt Flo had made her official debut.

-November 2nd, 2008: I become officially addicted to Facebook after only 48 hours of being introduced. I am a Facebook whore, now, thank you. I need a cigarette...

In completely unrelated news, some Halloween pics. Only my child would manage to turn her bumblebee outfit into a fashion statement...
