Designed to Sell - the Pittsburgh Edition

For those that have asked, yes we are still alive over here in dramaland. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, just into the annoyances that go along with adulthood. So here is what we have been up to.

-work: love my job except when multiple people go on vacation, because it means that the rest of us take it up the you-know-where when things are short staffed. This is my hectic week, but things slow down a bit more in a few days.

-the Kid: love the Kid except for when she decides to go through a sleep strike/crib strike/"I am not leaving my parents" strike. It may be the teething, it may be her sudden burst of language - "sock", "hat" and "light" are the new ones. We have a had a few sleep deprived weeks because she is not only a restless sleeper, but she is a lot stronger than she was last time we did the whole co-sleeping thing last year. Nothing ruins your sleep faster than an inadvertent tiny right hook to the eye at 4 AM. This too shall pass...

-preparation for moving: love the house except for when I hemorrhaging money at Home Depot because of all the stuff we keep buying there to get ready for the move. We spoke to a real estate agent last week and we are planning on listing our place in about 2-3 weeks.

So far we have:

-retiled the upstairs bath with plans to get the tub and surround Miracle Method-ed out.
-installed chair rails in the dining room and nursery
-installed wainscoting and trim in the downstairs bedroom (now named the "in-law", "nanny" or "teenager" suite)

Still to come: LOTS of touch up painting and decluttering and cleaning.

It's funny that our house is going to look its best right when we are going to be selling it. Sort of like how you become really anal about brushing and flossing your teeth right before your dental check-up. Oh, you don't do that? It must be me...

does the staged craft room get a nod in the listing? :)

I often call Home Depot our "other house."

good luck on getting through the sleep disturbances. It took us a month to normalize, but sleep has been better than ever now!

I'm a Lowes fan myself, but I totally get the whole "other house" thing.
And Dr. Drama, I'm the same way before I go to my dentist!
