Chocolate Ganache Dip

Just saying the words "chocolate ganache" makes you sound super posh and very foodie-tastic without even trying that hard.  I adapted this recipe from the Barefoot Contessa. My version includes the following three ingredients: chocolate, cream and coffee. You can't go wrong.

Chocolate Ganache Dip
  • 2 cups semisweet (NOT milk chocolate) chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream (don't even think about using milk for this, there simply isn't enough fat in regular milk to do this properly)
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee
Combine all ingredients and melt over medium heat until well combined and glossy smooth. Pour into serving container. This may be microwaved in 30 second increments if it becomes too cool for dipping. Goes well with fresh fruit and anything that you may think of doing with fondue (pound cake, marshmallows, pretzels...).

I may or may not have eaten some of this with a banana the night before the jewelry swap, kthnxbai.
