Orlando Vacation - Magic Kingdom

We timed this trip purposely so that the Kid would still be free (all kids under 3 are free), but she would still remember a little bit of the trip.  We also set very low expectations in general.

EXTREMELY low expectations.

I mean, low-rider jeans, I-can-see-your-underwear low expectations.

I figured that this trip would be very different from our past Disney vacations, where you run from one roller coaster to the next and ride the Haunted Mansion ride three times in a row.  I figured if we got to see the characters without the Kid crying (which didn't happen), I would be happy. This time we were in Mickey's Toontown Fair, the one part of Magic Kingdom I have never seen before.

For the parents out there, we did the wave at the characters from afar thing and nixed the character breakfast, because I think the idea of a six foot tall Minnie Mouse/real-life princess was a little too much for her to handle without bursting into tears.  I wasn't pushing it.

Highlights were...

Leaving the hotel on the way to "Cinderella's Castle"...

On the ferryboat ride over and she sees the castle for the first time...

Minnie's House...

Driving the Grand Prix cars...

Watching the parade...

What she really did while the parade was going on...

A tentative ride on the tea cups...

The Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride (the favorite!)...

A great ending to a busy day...

Animal Kingdom coming up next...
